Goodbye, fellas! See you next year!


Having a pet turtle is great if you like not having a pet. Turtles are, however cool they may look, kind of boring animals: They move slowly, don’t eat a whole lot, and if you touch them and don’t wash your hands, you could get salmonella.


I know, sounds great!


Not only are turtles not exactly the most riveting creatures in the world, but they’re the type that hibernates, too. And so, they can be out of commission for two to four months.


Preparing for this process is pretty funny, with people doing everything from burying their turtles to stuffing them in the fridge to just throwing them in a box in the closet.


I’ll just stick to dogs and cats, thanks.
