If you haven’t already noticed, today is October 21st, 2015. The day that Marty McFly arrived in the future only to be overwhelmed by all sorts of awesome new technology. While some of these technologies have since come true (personal drones, fingerprint security systems, video phones and waste-fueled cars to name a few) there have always been two that have escaped us: The hoverboard (they’re working on it), and the Nike Power Laces.

To commemorate Back to the Future Day, Nike just announced that the MAG power-laced shoes would go on sale in the spring of 2016 via a limited edition release auction, with all proceeds going to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. Though true to the future that Back To The Future predicted, Michael J. Fox, was the first person to get his hands on a pair. Sneaker heads and hype-beast alike will be awaiting the release next spring with a pack of AA batteries in hand. Though sadly they may upset Kanye West as they trade in his similar looking Yezzyz, for these news futuristic moon boots. 

Now if we can just get Audi to stop playing games with our hoverboard-coveting-hearts, we can all accept that we now live in the future, and Back to the Future III was horrible.
