Sad story at Wal-Mart
I was at Wal-mart the other day looking at CD's. I noticed this one older guy kept staring at me. I kept an eye on him and he just kept staring. I finally asked him if he needed help with something. He told me I looked just like his daughter who had passed away a few years ago. He told me how we had the same eyes and hair. He shared some stories of her when she was little and how much he missed her. I was pretty much in tears, I really felt bad for this guy. I had my c.d. and was ready to leave, the guy asked if he could walk with me. I said that wouldn't be a problem. As we were walking up to the register he asked me if I would do him a favor and call him Dad. He said it'd been so long since he'd heard it. I thought this was really strange but I figured why not? I felt bad for the guy. He was a the counter checking out and I was looking at all the junk for a dollar by the checkout line. I looked up and the guy was all done, walking away. He looked back at me, I said "See ya later Dad". He smiled a great big smile, waved at me and walked out the door. I felt happy that I had made his day. The cashier rang up my CD and told me my total was $147.30. I told her I only got a CD that was $15. She said my "Dad" told her I was paying for his items as well. I was in shock. I started crying telling her I didn't have enough money and that I didn't know that man, I had just met him. I told the cashier to hang on and I'd be right back. I ran out the door to the parking lot. The guy was halfway into his car and I grabbed ahold of his leg. I started pulling on his leg...just like I'm pulling yours now.
