The American Dream is No Longer an Option

Before we continue I need you the reader to have a little day dream.  Letâs imagine for a minute that you stumbled across a great idea or product, not a fantastic one, but just a run of the mill bread clip type of idea or perhaps you wanted to become writer or any number of self employee dreams and you did. You are renting a house or an apartment and you build your idea into a great business. Your business is pulling in fair money; you take your fair deductions and pay your remaining taxes. You are bringing home 35k after taxes and you are like hey I am doing well, so you go to the bank and look for a mortgage.  Shortly you learn that the days of the past are all over. Your grandpas business that bought the house that raised your dad that allowed your family to continue to exist is no longer financeable. Sure the bank will take 2-3 of taxes as proof â but those deductions that you use like any business does (from Walmart to that tiny Asian place) are now counted against you, and you only make enough after that to afford a crack house in Detroit, if youâre lucky, and that house has to be in good enough condition for the bank to agree that they should give a loan out on it. And fat chance at that, there are renovation loans for that, but there again they will not finance a loan with enough built into to make those repairs. When you about loose you mind and want to break down and cry because you can afford 1500 a month rent and a bank wonât loan you money for a mortgage that is 400 a month, you turn to a loan officer for advice and they tell you that perhaps you should take the next 2-3 years and file no deductions (to make your income SEEM as high as possible, and that might open up a few houses. But make sure you donât let those added expenses keep you from paining your bills on time because if your credit slips there will be no mortgage either.

There was once upon a time of going out on your own and starting a business, purchasing a house, and starting your own family. This is no longer an option, you might as well spend the next 2 years working for kmart night shift stocking, as at least then they will qualify you. This all started with banks holding our country hostage asking for a bail out or else, and once we paid up they fucked the backbone of our country yet again. Saddened and heartbroken.
