WSOP Star Phil Hellmuth Eliminates Opponent in Expletive-Filled Rant
Poker legend Phil Hellmuth drew the ire of other players at the World Series of Poker on Day 2C of the tournament after an obscene mid-hand outburst.
The incident occurred when Hellmuth held a pair of 7s and watched Alex Kuzmin bet with King-2 after the flop:
Fair or foul from @Phil_Hellmuth?

James Campbell then went all-in with ace-9, and Hellmuth expressed his outrage at the move before Kuzmin called. Kuzmin and Campbell were both on diamond flush draws, making Campbell a heavy favorite after the flop.
“He got away with murder all day against me,” Hellmuth said. “How the fuck does this happen?”
Campbell ending up losing the hand when a 2 came out of the turn, ending his tournament. The event announcers immediately called for Hellmuth to be penalized.
I had some fun even though I got tortured all day in the WSOP main event. I busted in brutal fashion a9dd vs k2dd on 1034dd flop...turn black 2. @phil_hellmuth save your rant until after other players fold. That player would have not called without your antics @WSOP

To his credit, Hellmuth eventually seemed to recognize the nature of his mistake and bought Campbell entry into the 2019 tournament.
@JCamby33 I lost some sleep over my outburst. I believe you lose the hand anyway, but maybe I am wrong. You handled yourself well, and played well. As a gesture of goodwill, and because I respect policeman and firefighters: I’m going to buy you into 2019 $10,000 @WSOP Main Event

@JCamby33 James - if you’re around at roughly 7 PM, I’ve arranged to buy you into the 2019 @WSOP Main Event, and hand you your paperwork. Why wait? I believe that you’ll be the first one registered!

I’m going to hop into “Little One for One Drop” around then...
Still, he denied his outburst was an “intentional act of sabotage,” as others had accused.
