A teacher asks her class, "Who here is an American?" expecting everybody to raise their hands. All the students did except one, a little girl called Sarah. So the teacher asks Sarah, "Why didn't you raise your hand when I asked if you are an American?"
Sarah answers, "Because I am Canadian."
"And why is that?" asked the teacher.
Sarah replies, "Because my mom is Canadian, my dad is Canadian, and my grandparents are all Canadians, too."
Flustered, the teacher says, "Well that's ridiculous. If I told you that your grandparents are stupid, that your father is retarded, and that your mother is brain-dead, what would that make you?"
Sarah answers simply, "Then I would be an American!"
