Plenty of people homeschool their children, and many have good reasons. The traditional school system in the United States isn't for everybody, and sometimes flexibility and freedom are necessary beyond what is normally available for children. The "Radical Unschooling" community believes that forcing children to do anything is wrong; be it learning or participating in society. They allow their children unlimited screen time with no enforced bedtime or wake-up times. They believe that children will learn what they need to learn on their own, or when they want to learn it, and forcing them to "read" or "do math" will only stunt their curiosity in the long term.
