Glory Hole, Monticello Dam, CA. Glory holes are used to drain water from a resevoir when it's full. This is the world's largest and consumes 14,400cubic ft of water per second! -

Diavik Mine, Canada. This mine is so huge and in such a remote area that it has its own airport with a runway large enough for a Boeing737. It's looks just as awesome when the surrounding water is frozen. -
