Kimberley Big Hole, S. Africa. Largest hand-dug excavation in the world which yielded over 3tons of diamonds b4 closing in 1914

Glory Hole, Monticello Dam, CA. Glory holes are used to drain water from a resevoir when it's full. This is the world's largest and consumes 14,400cubic ft of water per second!

Bingham Canyon Mine, Utah. Largest man-made in the world began in 1863 and still continues today. It's several miles deep and 2.5miles wide.

Great Blue Hole, Belize. Incredible geographical phenomenon located 60miles off coast of Belize. There are several of these worldwide but none quite this stunning.

Mirny Diamond Mine, Serbia. This beast is the largest open mine in the world. 525meters deep, 1200meter diameter at top. There's a no-fly zone above it due to incidents of lost helicopters!

Diavik Mine, Canada. This mine is so huge and in such a remote area that it has its own airport with a runway large enough for a Boeing737. It's looks just as awesome when the surrounding water is frozen.

Guatemalen Sink Hole. This occured quite recently and engulfed nearly a dozen homes, killing at least 3people.
