1.
Herbert Cockman: Picked up for robbery in 1899, Herbert was a bit unstable. He was so uncooperative with police in fact that an officer had to hold his head still for a mugshot. What a cock. -
2.
James Collins: James Collins was also picked up for robbery a few years before Mr. Cockman. -
3.
Jennie Lester: Jennie did her time because of some pretty naughty illicit solicitation. -
4.
Minnie Bradley: Arrested for grand larceny, prostitute Minnie refused to look at the camera when arrested. -
5.
James Pappas: Mr. Pappas bought insurance for the general store he owned, but was busted for trying to get an employee to burn it down for him. Caught red handed. -
6.
Bertha Liebbeke (1903): The wily old Bertha would faint on unsuspecting men, and then steal their wallets. Clever girl. -
7.
Goldie Williams AKA Mag Murphy: Never trust anyone with an AKA in their bio. Mag Murphy was arrested for prostitution and refused to smile in any photos. -
8.
Nannie Hutchinson: Nannie killed the man she worked with (we don’t know why), and then managed to evade capture for about a year. -
9.
Charles Hutchinson: Son of our friend Nannie, Charles was her accomplice for the murder. Along with his mother he wasn’t caught until the man’s body was found a year after the murder. Bet it smelt a bit. -
10.
Ruby Fox & Myrtle Hetrick: These two lovely ladies managed to escape from the State Reformatory for Women in York. -
11.
Nora Courier: Nora tried to steal a horse. Someone should have told Nora that was NAY a good idea. -
12.
Lola Lopez: Lola strangled and robbed a man – hence her time behind bars. -
13.
Mary Shannon: Mysteriously locked up in 1925 for ‘mayhem’ – it’s not clear what Mary actually did to see her earn two years in jail. -
14.
Sergeant John Reed: John Reed did seven years in prison for the manslaughter of Crawford Marshal Arthur Moss. -
15.
Alv Lytle: Poor old Alv was sentenced to 12-15 years after being accused of a bank robbery.......... -
16.
He was innocent however, and was set free two years later after another man confessed. He picked up $2,500 in compensation. -
17.
Albert Johnson: Sentenced to a year and a half for grand larceny.......... -
18.
Albert had to lose his hair and moustache to stop the spread of lice. Ouch.
