Author, futurist, inventor, tv host, and undersea explorer, Arthur C. Clarke undeniably one of the greatest visionaries of the past century. In fact in 1945 he came up with the idea of the first communications satellite, although it was independently and concurrently being conceived at the same time at Bell Lab.
