Healthcare in the United States is pretty expensive. That’s why, while other countries might do something crazy like “go to the doctor” when they have a problem, we find our own solutions: ignoring it, taking fish antibiotics or downing Tylenol until the pain of our slipped disc can be drowned out long enough for us to sleep.

But what if you have something you just can’t ignore? This woman had a cyst and, while she was already next to an ambulance, the idea of taking a ride to the hospital to get treated (and thus getting billed) didn’t seem too appealing. And so, the EMT offered to fix her problem with a big book — and, what do you know, it worked.
