Almost 30 years ago, Nintendo developed a Game Boy game and physical accessory set called the Work Boy. The cartridge had twelve mini games you could play using the combination of the handheld console's controls and a separate keyboard that plugged into the Game Boy.

The games on this thing shouldn't even be called games. They were more like applications, and included things like a clock, calculator, a contact list, and things to convert between different currencies and temperature scales.

Despite all the work they put into this contraption, they scrapped it at the last minute, and apparently only two Work Boys remained. Someone recently dug one up and took it for a test drive.

It works, but it's basically like a really really boring phone (with no phone or internet capabilities).
