      • Okay, I agree with you there. I just don't want people thinking somehow that the theory of evolution or the people who accept it vindicate or advocate any sort of eugenics by default.

      • Ever-increasing gas prices? I wouldn't exactly say so, but that isn't really the point. I asked if you were uninformed or lying because you agreed with Kaustic's comment that suggest that Obama was out of touch with reality, and in an earlier response to a comment made by dontmesswithmeh on this blog you said "Also, Obama talks about "change" but he never states exactly what he wants to change." Yet now you admit that he has stated what he wants to change. I ask again, were you uninformed when you said that, or were you lying?

      • Darwin's theory had nothing to do with weaker vs. stronger races. It had to do with how fit an individual was to live in its surrounding environment. Social Darwinists may distort the theory to support doing things like choosing "master races" through eugenics, but that has no place in Darwin's actual theory, and is a weak attempt to make people who accept Evolution seem evil, thus promoting their religion and spreading ignorance.

      • Are you suggesting McCain has something "new or different" to offer? If he does, I'd like to hear about it. Also, I don't think the former presidents that you mentioned were facing the exact same problems that Obama or McCain will face in 2009. You admit that Obama has mentioned how he wants to change things, so which were you when you said "Amen brother!!" to Kaustic's earlier post, uninformed or lying?

      • It's a weak connection; a much stronger one would be the influence of Christian anti-Semitism in Germany starting with Martin Luther, along with Germany's state of economic ruin after WWI, and their want for a scapegoat. In "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed", he uses the weak argument between Darwin and Nazism to demonize science and promote ID. The main reason the Holocaust took place is pure racism, not a scientifically sound theory. I'll end on a quote from Stein: "Love of God and compassion and empathy leads you to a very glorious place, and science leads you to killing people." I say he should have stuck with the Visine commercials.

      • "U.S. figures estimate that there might be between 8-12 million illegal immigrants, with this number potentially being twice as high." So why not just say there might be between 8-24 million? I realize that doesn't really matter, but yeah. As for forcing American culture to assimilate, what about the rest of the U.S., besides the "ghettos of California?" I would also advise caution when dealing with Ben Stein; he thinks that the Theory of Evolution was the inspiration for the Holocaust.

      • A lot of people will tell you that Obama always talks about change without saying what he's going to change. This is a completely misinformed statement. Under the "Issues" portion of Obama's website there is an entire 64-page "Blueprint for Change" in PDF format, which explains what he wants to change. People who say he hasn't explained what he wants to change are either lying or are completely uninformed. He would end the war over the course of about sixteen months as long as conditions on the ground allowed. He feels the war in Iraq was a distraction from the war on Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan. I urge you to get to know both candidates' sides before deciding who to vote for.
